Trees of Joy
The West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook Rotary Club 2023 Trees’ of Joy are up and running at the Cherrybrook Village Shopping Centre and Westleigh Village.
In conjunction with the Shopping Centre Management, our Rotary Club has operated a Christmas Giving Tree for the past 31 years receiving around 1000 gifts each year. We work with charities/organisations to identity disadvantaged people who would welcome your generosity in providing a specific gift at Christmas. Only about 85% of the tags are taken from the tree meaning some people miss out. Please take a tag from the Christmas tree and help us spread some Christmas joy. A tree will also be at the Cherrybrook Public School Christmas Fête on Nov 19 and our Christmas Market at Cherrybrook RFS on Dec 3. Our Supporting Charities/organisation

RC Greater Hills Christmas Markets on 25th November
Will you join us to march for change and to call for an end to domestic and family violence in our community?
Reclaim the Night began in the UK in the 1970s. It initially started as a protest for the rights of women to be safe in public places after dark. Since then it has evolved and has become a protest against all forms of violence against women and the rights of women to be safe in public places, their workplaces and their own homes. Reclaim the Night now runs globally including across Australia.
Reclaim the Night - The Hills 2023 will take place on 1 December at 5:30pm to 7:30pm starting at Arthur Whitling Park Castle Hill. We will walk down both sides of Main Street before returning to Arthur Whitling Park for speeches and a BBQ. I hope you will join us as we advocate change and an end to violence in our community. Make sure you wear purple!
Registration is free. To register clink on the following link or scan the QR code in the flyer. https://events.humanitix.com/reclaim-the-night-the-hills-2023

What it takes to be a Rotarian
There are members of the community who may have some misunderstandings about what it takes to be a Rotarian.
We are always looking for new members and, in fact, it is new people joining that keeps us alive as a Service club. From time to time I hear people say things that make me think they don't consider joining or even visiting Rotary for all the wrong reasons.
This article is about the things you don't need to join Rotary, and the things you do, just in case you are not sure. The other thing you should know is that we are a very friendly bunch of men and women and we have a lot of fun, as well as achieving some pretty good things in the community.
