District Assembly for 2023/24 Board

The District Assembly is going to be on Sat 15th April at the Epping Boys High School for only half a day and then the rest online.
Yes, I know this clashes with our first Bunning BBQ at Castle Hill so we will have to get all members to help.
For New Board Members, District Assembly is normally an overview on a number of topics and then specific training/workshops for each Portfolio.
Hopefully you should get an invite directly.
Highly recommended to attend.
Thanks everyone.
Neville

Cherrybrook Community Chat

Picture
Cherrybrook Uniting Church has started an externally focused midweek activity.  This is called Cherrybrook Community Chat.
  • Cherrybrook Community Chat provides an opportunity for people within our community to meet and engage in discussion on social justice, current affairs and important topics.
  • Cherrybrook Community Chat is broadly defined as: Meet, Listen, Respect and Share as we understand everyone has different views.
  • Cherrybrook Community Chat is held on 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month.  It runs from 7:30pm to 9pm in the Wesleyan Hall at Cherrybrook Uniting Church (134 New Line Road, Cherrybrook)
  • Tea and coffee is available or you can BYO if preferred.  You can also bring beer/wine and nibbles if you so desire.
The next meeting is on Tuesday 21st March starting at 7:30pm in the Wesleyan Hall and the topics are:
  • Mental Ill-Health – is this the new pandemic?
  • Youth vs Experience – are we missing the value of both?
All welcome, light supper provided.

Regards
Neville Hansen

What it takes to be a Rotarian

There are members of the community who may have some misunderstandings about what it takes to be a Rotarian.
We are always looking for new members and, in fact, it is new people joining that keeps us alive as a Service club.  From time to time I hear people say things that make me think they don't consider joining or even visiting Rotary for all the wrong reasons.
This article is about the things you don't need to join Rotary, and the things you do, just in case you are not sure.  The other thing you should know is that we are a very friendly bunch of men and women and we have a lot of fun, as well as achieving some pretty good things in the community.

Don't need:
  • to be invited
  • to be of a certain age
  • to be male
  • to be a business person
  • to be retired
  • to attend meetings every week
  • to be available on weekends.

Must have:
  • a sense of humour
  • a willingness to give back to your community
  • a willingness to pitch in when required
  • some time available to help out on the occasional weekend event
  • an interest in the life of the West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook communities
  • a desire to contribute in some way to the running of the Club.

If you would like to come along as a guest to see what it is all about just call either: -
Carol Russell (0418 431 157) or President Janelle (0412 064 336)
