The Garage Sale
We have just had our best and most successful Garage Sale on the weekend of 7&8 October raising a record gross - north of $35k.
Excellent Project Management and a large number of dedicated volunteers, some putting in hours of effort, in the weeks before the weekend contributed to this result. |

Peter Stanton, Julianne Anne and I went to District Changeover last Saturday evening. About 250 Rotarians and partners were present. Awards were made to a number of clubs and it was far from a boring evening. Photos of our activities were included in the photo show. A couple of items of interest were spoken about.
This year the District Governor’s Partner’s Project will be to support Grace’s Place, a purpose-built facility to provide support and medical care to children who are affected by homicide. They might be the siblings or children of a homicide victim. These young people are often the forgotten victims of a homicide and can fall by the wayside while the adults in the family try to come to terms with the tragedy that has befallen their family. |

In a Dublin Sunday school class:
Teacher - ' If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into heaven?' 'NO!' the children answered. 'If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the garden, and kept everything tidy, would that get me into heaven?' Again, the answer was 'NO!' 'If I gave sweets to all the children, and loved my husband, would that get me into heaven?' Again, they all answered 'NO!' Bursting with pride for them the teacher continues, 'Then how can I get into heaven?' Ralph shouts out: 'YUV GOTTA BE F**KN' DEAD.' |
A blonde pushes her BMW into a gas station. She tells the mechanic it died.
After he works on it for a few minutes, it is idling smoothly. She says, “What's the story?” He replies, “Just crap in the carburetor.” She asks, “How often do I have to do that?” |

A police officer stops a blonde for speeding and asks her very nicely if he could see her driver’s license.
She replied in a huff, “I wish you guys would get your act together! Just yesterday they took my license away and now today you expect me to show it to you?” |
A gorgeous young redhead goes into the doctor's office and said that her body hurt wherever she touched it.
“Impossible!” says the doctor. “Show me.” The redhead took her finger, pushed on her left shoulder and screamed, she pushed her elbow and screamed even more. She pushed her knee and screamed; likewise she pushed her ankle and screamed. Everywhere she touched made her scream. The doctor said, “You're not really a redhead, are you?” “Well, no,” she said, “I'm actually a blonde.” “I thought so,” the doctor said, “Your finger is broken.” |
