MUSTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH
RYLA 2017 - this is an excerpt from the latest DG's E News & shows why we support RYLA
RYLA 2017 was run and won by 84 new RYLArians. The Organising Committee chaired by David Clark, supported the Facilitators lead by Amanda Firkins together with Mum & Dad (David and Dianne Waterhouse) arranged an excellent program that actively engaged and developed the attendees. The outdoor activities were challenging and the indoor speakers were compelling.
Well Done and Thank you to all who made it happen....and I hope that the experience convinces the new RYLArians to join Rotaract so they can continue to enjoy and enhance the Rotary experience.

President's Report 8th May 2017
Fantastic! Wonderful!
A lovely reunion!
What fun!
Like old times!
These were some of the comments overheard on Monday at our 30th birthday celebrations. 98 members and guests enjoyed an amazing evening, meeting former friends, reminiscing and living the “good old days”. Our District Governor Bruce appeared to enjoy the evening even making a special mention of the dress up competition at the conferences.
A huge thank you to the social committee of Max, Colin Sharpe, Ross, Colin Baxter, Ros, Margaret and Bernard together with our IT guru Andrew, our MC Barry, presenters Alan, Ross, David, Tony Makin and Tony Coote as well as the PRT of Glenda and Margaret. What a team!!
Thank you to all the former members and guests, the 10 members from Pennant Hills Rotary and the 3 members from our parent club Beecroft. It was lovely to have you celebrating with us.
Now we are on the home stretch…… Friday is Meals from the Heart. Don’t forget to make a dessert and contact John Tchetchenian to arrange delivery.
We have red wine tasting next meeting with our son Andrew. There will be a small charge to taste 5 or 6 wines during the evening. I’m looking forward to hearing him for the first time!!!
On 22nd May we have Rex Langthorne from the Special Olympics together with the young athlete Amanda Kelly who we helped sponsor to the special games in New Zealand.
Saturday 27th is a Donations in Kind (DIK) working bee. Please contact tony Makin for further details.
The Red Shield Appeal in on Sunday 28th May. Please volunteer. It’s not onerous – the young people do all the walking – you just supervise and keep an eye on them. The students are lovely young people who are fun to work with. It is just approx. 3 hours to help raise funds for the Salvos who do so much good in our community. Please contact either David or myself.
Then on 29th May, its Pride of Workmanship followed by our vocational visit to Care Flight on June 5th. John is going all out!!
Phew!! I’m exhausted reading about it all but it’s better to be busy that have nothing to do. Let’s continue to have fun and fellowship whilst serving humanity.
