I’m a Business and Leadership Mentor and Behavioural Profiling Consultant with 30 years of corporate experience in a broad range of sectors.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication with a major in Marketing, a Master's Degree in Psychology in Education and an Advanced Diploma in Life Coaching. I’ve been working alongside government departments, public and private companies and their executives, assisting in significant projects that shape their future. I was married, 2 kids, Caroline is 36, married with no kids and Alex, 29. Both live in Australia since I relocated from Brazil. I’m also on the Board of Directors of the ABCC - Australia Brazil Chamber of Commerce, supporting government relations and international trade. |
I’ve been supporting the International Community, in particular as the Vice-President of the Brazilian Community Council of Australia, BRACCA, where we not only promote the Brazilian culture, but look after the issues the community faces like DV, hardship, hospitalisation, mental health and other needs.
In the past I volunteered for projects with the less fortunate population back in Brazil, creating awareness of the needs for sanitation, clean water and homelessness.
I also have a large experience coordinating co-operation agreements between researchers and the private sector in education and sustainability.
It is an honour to be part of Rotary and I’m looking forward to contribute with Rotary activities in my capabilities and with the projects that can make a difference to people’s lives.

Sandra White
I joined the RC of Lindfield in 2002 when my last child’s school life came to an end, by this time I had been divorced. My ex-husband now has vascular dementia and I help him out weekly.
I worked at Knox Grammar School in Wahroonga for 22 years, firstly managing the Alumni office then later moved to the Archives and Museum. I did not grow up in this area, so when my sons started at Knox, I became very involved, joining various committees to meet people, 30 years on many of us still meet up regularly to maintain the friendships we made long ago. It was an Old Boy of the School suggested I come along to a Rotary meeting, in those days Lindfield met a Killara Bowling Club, as his wife was also a member I went and was so warmly welcomed I continued to attend meetings and decided to join, not thinking I would be there for over twenty years later. Lindfield had 50 members back then and I felt like I had 50 new wonderful like-minded friends. It was a wonderfully warm friendly club. We had a member of the RC of Penzance (U.K) he had married an Australian lady and wanted to join a club here, he said he attended many Rotary Clubs until he found us and became a member. |
Back in the day our major fund raiser was a FunRun which I convened a few times, I am a Past President (2010/11) and a Paul Harris Fellow. I am currently Club Service Director for Ku- PO Box 103W, West Pennant Hills, 2125 – District 9685 Club meets Mondays 6:30pm for 7:00pm at Springfield Function Centre, Old Northern Road, Dural ring-gai and the program manager and we also run the Dementia Café at West Pymble, so I’m there every Tuesday, it is most rewarding.
While a member of Lindfield I held the position of Secretary for 4 years, was the Community Service Director a number of times and arrange social events for members and partners.
I have two son’s and a daughter; I have 5 grandchildren and Bob a gentleman friend who lives out of this area.

Shopping for Vegetables
Today I did something new.
Usually when buying vegetables (snow peas and beans) I place them in plastic bags at Martelli's, bring them home and decant them into woven mesh bags for storage in the refridgerator.
Today I took these woven bags to Martelli's and filled them directly.
This obviated the threat of plastic refuse being a problem from this particular purchase.

Zone 8 Regionalisation Webinar
Last week, members of the Regionalisation Steering Group hosted a series of webinars to share information about the work currently happening in the Regionalisation Pilot.
Over 200 people tuned in across the three webinars, with lots of great questions asked about the proposed Regional Council, Community Groups and Leaders, the Specialist Network, and the Pilot more broadly.

What it takes to be a Rotarian
There are members of the community who may have some misunderstandings about what it takes to be a Rotarian.
We are always looking for new members and, in fact, it is new people joining that keeps us alive as a Service club. From time to time I hear people say things that make me think they don't consider joining or even visiting Rotary for all the wrong reasons.
This article is about the things you don't need to join Rotary, and the things you do, just in case you are not sure. The other thing you should know is that we are a very friendly bunch of men and women and we have a lot of fun, as well as achieving some pretty good things in the community.
