Zone 8 Regionalisation Update
Keeping you updated
In this update:
•Link to webinar recording and future webinar dates
•Regional Council election
•Like our new Facebook page
Dear Rotary and Rotaract members,
Thank you to the over 300 people who attended our August webinars to hear the latest updates on the Regionalisation Pilot. You can view a recording of one of the webinars here.
Clubs and members are at the core of the Regionalisation Pilot and we are starting to implement some of the exciting opportunities the Pilot is testing.
We strongly encourage you to actively discuss what opportunities your club would like to explore. It is not about taking club activities or projects away, but the Pilot is a chance to expand your reach and increase your impact.
Regional Council Election
Next month, Rotary and Rotaract clubs will be able to cast a preferential vote for each of the nine Regional Council positions they are eligible to vote for. The Regional Council will represent and support clubs at a regional level, so it is important that you and your fellow club members consider which candidate will be best for each role.
Club Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers will receive further emails in the coming weeks about the election process, and will soon need to confirm the correct email address to which the ballot should be sent. This is an essential step to ensure all clubs have their say.
You can view the candidates for each Regional Council role on the Creating Tomorrow website from Tuesday 3 October 2023.
Voting opens on Tuesday 17 October 2023 and closes on Tuesday 31 October 2023, with votes to be submitted by each club’s designated Club Officer.
Please note the above dates are in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).

What it takes to be a Rotarian
There are members of the community who may have some misunderstandings about what it takes to be a Rotarian.
We are always looking for new members and, in fact, it is new people joining that keeps us alive as a Service club. From time to time I hear people say things that make me think they don't consider joining or even visiting Rotary for all the wrong reasons.
This article is about the things you don't need to join Rotary, and the things you do, just in case you are not sure. The other thing you should know is that we are a very friendly bunch of men and women and we have a lot of fun, as well as achieving some pretty good things in the community.
