Australia Day Dinner at RC Pennant Hills
Here is a photo at the Rotary Club of Pennant Hills Australia Day Dinner where Dr Kristen Bindley OAM was the guest speaker, and she was awarded the Australia Day Merit Award. Her presentation was about the palliative and bereavement care that she set up in Western Sydney.
Thank You from Taldumande Youth Services
Dear Cawas, Neville and Colin
Happy New Year – I hope 2024 is treating you well.
I just wanted to extend a formal thank you to the Rotary Club of West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook for once again including Taldumande Youth Services in your Tree of Joy Program. Without generous communities such as yours, we would not be able to help so many vulnerable young people and their families at a time when so many are struggling to make ends meet.
A formal thank you letter is attached. Could you please share it with your Club members and be sure to extend our heartfelt thanks. There’s also a lovely photo of our Casework Coordinator standing amongst the many gifts you provided to Taldumande.
With much gratitude
Liz

Dear Neville,
I am writing on behalf of the Cherrybrook Uniting Church Hands and Feet leadership team.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks for the recent support and generosity of the West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook Rotary Club.
This generosity ensured the provision of a significant amount of non-perishable items for those accessing Hands and Feet across the Christmas period and allow for additional support in the coming months. In addition, the Christmas cakes and other treats lit up the faces of many as they were distributed. The generosity of the members of Rotary, meant that the finances of the households we support were alleviated during the Christmas period.
CUC Hands and Feet commenced in July 2023. Since then, we have distributed 270 baskets of produce and recently non -perishable items to 40 households. We do not gather information regarding the circumstances of those accessing the service, however, they are a diverse group from whom we have the privilege of constantly learning.

What it takes to be a Rotarian
There are members of the community who may have some misunderstandings about what it takes to be a Rotarian.
We are always looking for new members and, in fact, it is new people joining that keeps us alive as a Service club. From time to time I hear people say things that make me think they don't consider joining or even visiting Rotary for all the wrong reasons.
This article is about the things you don't need to join Rotary, and the things you do, just in case you are not sure. The other thing you should know is that we are a very friendly bunch of men and women and we have a lot of fun, as well as achieving some pretty good things in the community.
