So, my friends, this is my last Bulletin in the role as Club President and the last chance to use my catchphrase ... ‘and that’s the Buzz for the week’. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading these inserts and that they’ve helped to keep you up to date with all the wonderful projects, events and activities the Club has been involved with this past year. It’s been a pleasure to serve as President and I appreciate the support and goodwill that’s been extended to myself and Board throughout the year. Stay safe, look after each other, and go gently my friends. Janelle
- David, Anne as Environmental Officer and I planted two trees at West Pennant Hills Public School on Wednesday as part of our initiative to plant a tree in honour of each guest speaker who addresses a Club meeting.
- Neville and I attended the Changeover for Rotary Club of Norwest Sunrise on Wednesday night;
- David, Anne, Colin, Neville and I attended and helped out at the Rotary Club of Greater Hills annual book fair last Thursday and Friday;
- On Friday morning Andrew was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Norwest Sunrise breakfast meeting where along with Pam Carne from the Rotary Club of Blacktown he spoke about the Teacher in a Box program;
- Also, at this same meeting Colin S and I were on hand to give over 50 packs of blankets, socks, scarves, beanies and gloves to President Azita’s charity ‘Shining Light’ who provide support to homeless people in Sydney. Special note is that these goods were sourced from Goods Rescued and rehomed – so lovely collaboration between us and a number of organisations;
- Saturday saw us supporting Pennant Hills High School in running the BBQ for their annual Carnival. I’m very proud to say 24 members assisted in working at this event in a whole range of roles on the day itself and in the lead up to it. So, a huge thanks to everyone who participated and special thanks to Colin S for coordinating;
- And to close off the week, I assisted at the District RYEP interviews for 2024 outbound students.
