Annual Giant 2017 Book Sale
The West Pennant Hills & Cherrybrook Rotary Club had a very successful 2017 book sale on Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th April, raising over $13,000.
This success was due to the untiring efforts of our Book Sale Committee & our club members and their partners.
The book sale is a great way for our members to participate in community service to raise funds for well deserving charities and local community projects that are undertaken by our club. It also provides fellowship, satisfaction and enjoyment of working together as a team.
We would like to thank everyone that either came along to help during our book sort days, the lead up preparation to the book sale, or during the sale itself.
The sale was held over three days for the first time - Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of April. The Sunday clearance sale, where customers could buy good quality books by the box or C21 bag and records, DVD's and CD's at half price, proved to be very popular.
Many customers commented on the high quality of the books including how well organised the overall layout was with fiction books sorted by author surname and non-fiction sorted into 25 main categories, which allowed them to easily find what they were looking for.
The West Pennant Hills & Cherrybrook Rotary Club would like to thank all those who generously donated books, records, DVD’s and CD’s. Without your kind generosity, the book sale would not have been the success that it was.
We would also like to thank everyone that came along and bought books, DVD's, CD's & records helping us to generate much needed funds.
These funds will be donated to our designated charities this year, including Shine For Kids, Country Hope, Taldumande Youth Services, Operation Hope and Wheelchairs Overseas.
Thanks also to the Cherrybrook Uniting Church for use of their premises and support for the book sale.
