We have a family in Mt Druitt who escaped serious DV and live in fear in a house that has steel bars on windows and doors. The son who is 16 years has been severely traumatised and started at a senior high school in the area this year, due to financial strains his mum is not able to afford a laptop for him after purchasing books and uniform. I sourced Anglicare, the school, Bing Lee, JB HiFi and Toll (a rep from the latter was going to help then no contact) unsuccessfully and can’t find an organisation who might sponsor this boy or donate a laptop.

One of the donated laptops has been provided to Ruby Campbell, Program Manager SHIFT Program (part of Anglicare) for a 16 year old boy. I have also installed Microsoft Office on the laptop & configured Windows 11 for him.

Please find our invitation attached to our 61st ANZAC Commemoration Dinner on Wednesday the 23rd of April 2025 to be held at the West Pennant Hills Sports Club, 103 New Line Rd, West Pennant Hills.

We are proud and most fortunate to engage a very interesting guest speaker, Mr. Ken Bradley OAM, who will deliver his presentation on the infamous WW2 Burma-Thai Railway (including Hellfire Pass) built by the Japanese using 60,000 allied POW’s as slave labour from 1942 to 1943 under the most horrendous conditions.
Ken’s address will be a rare opportunity to hear and learn about this tragic part of the war. His story will serve to remember and honour the victims as part of the ANZAC spirit and legend.
Ken was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2019 for his community work and his involvement in the restorative projects on parts of the Burma railway, such as Hellfire Pass from the overgrown jungles. Ken was born in Melbourne and graduated as a petroleum geologist. He worked and lived in many Asian countries, Sumatra, Indonesia, Singapore, Bangkok Thailand, Yangan Burma and Baku Azerbaijan - near Iran. Ken is a resident of Dural and is active member of the local Historical Society with a particular research interest in the remembrance of local WW1 enlisted men.
You will be warmly welcomed to enjoy our traditional fun and fellowship to be part of this special evening of tribute to the sacrifices and memory of our servicemen who were forced to live, work and suffer under their Japanese captors 82 years ago.

This year we are bringing you a revamped model with exciting new program, working in conjunction with RLI International as well as RLI across Australia and NZ to bring you the best.

New Member Introduction and Orientation
Supporting clubs to help orientate new members to the Rotary World we are offering a 4 hour program which will help your new members to begin to understand our amazing organisation with some hands on tips on how to navigate the vastness that is Rotary.
Cost: $15 via Zoom / $50 in Person
LEVEL TWO
Traditional RLI
RLI seeks to have Rotary clubs identify members with more than 12 months Rotary experience, who show potential for future club leadership (within their club and beyond, not just as future presidents) so they can be provided a quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills, unique to voluntary organisations, and then apply them with confidence.
Cost: $30 via Zoom / $65 Blended (one day in Person + one day via Zoom)
LEVEL THREE
Graduate Program
For those looking to take their Rotary learning and leadership journey to the next level.
Cost: $15 via Zoom
This amazing course is delivered by a team of district facilitators with all support materials provided. It is usual for clubs to pay for their members to attend.

There are members of the community who may have some misunderstandings about what it takes to be a Rotarian.
We are always looking for new members and, in fact, it is new people joining that keeps us alive as a Service club. From time to time I hear people say things that make me think they don't consider joining or even visiting Rotary for all the wrong reasons.
This article is about the things you don't need to join Rotary, and the things you do, just in case you are not sure. The other thing you should know is that we are a very friendly bunch of men and women and we have a lot of fun, as well as achieving some pretty good things in the community.
We are always looking for new members and, in fact, it is new people joining that keeps us alive as a Service club. From time to time I hear people say things that make me think they don't consider joining or even visiting Rotary for all the wrong reasons.
