President's Report
- The name of Zone 8 has been changed to Rotary Pacific.
- Board meeting last Wednesday. Items of interest.
- Invitation from West Pennant Hills Public School to present the Rotary Encouragement Award to a student On Dec 12.
- To support the Kenthurst Club initiative five shelter bags ($460) for homeless persons will be purchased.
- Our outgoing Youth Exchange candidate was not selected. There were more candidates than places this year.
- Beecroft club is holding a special meeting tonight to discuss what Rotaract clubs (Hills, Northern Beaches, Cairns & Paddington) are doing and how they can interact with Rotary Clubs. Since this clashes with a club meeting, Anne will attend to represent our club.
- Thank you to Anne, Kaye and David who helped me with the cleanup of fallen leaves at the Kenthurst transition houses last Thursday.
- The District Directory is now available for downloading. You will need to log into the district Website. If you cannot do that please let me know.

Looking forward: - Our club will participate in the Norwest Club’s Community Connect on July 28 at Castle Hill Showgrounds (Harvey Lowe Pavilion from 10am to 2pm). President Colin and Carol will represent the club, other club members are welcome. Community connect provides a forum for community organisations to promote themselves to the public.
- Club AGM is set for Dec 2 as a Zoom meeting.
- Our guest speaker on July 22nd is Chris Andrews talking about electric Vehicles. It is not a sale pitch so come along an learn about your next vehicle.
- Elise Mele our Youth Exchange Student from France will arrive 2 Aug 24 at 8.30pm.
- Science Experience – the club will support 3 students from Coonabarabran High School.
- A Club fitness Program is being offered by Rotary Pacific. Our club will apply to be accepted. Anne and Sandra will lead this initiative if we get selected.
- Beecroft club has invited our club to join them on Sept 2 to hear from the local Chinese associations about how they assimilate into our community. We have a speaker booked for that night so Anne will attend to represent our club.
- The Carlingford Club as invited our club to join them Tuesday night at the Vikings Sports Club to hear Dr Andrew Charlton Federal MP for Parramatta speak. A good opportunity to see how another club runs their meetings. Please let me know if you would like to attend. Anne and I will be going.
- Bunnings has cancelled our August 10 BBQ at Castle Hill and moved it to August 24. They had originally reserved Aug 10 to support, Men’s Health Education Rural Van, but have now allocated that day to “Pets Day”

- Don’t forget you can see the Club Directory, “What’s On” and “Calendar” on your phone. If it is not working for you let me know and it will be fixed for you.
- Don’t forget to let Sandra know if you are travelling or are not attending meetings so you do not get rostered on for meeting duties. All members are eligible for the duty roster and are assigned a role by Sandra. Your role is posted in the Bulletin and the Bulletin email 6 weeks in advance.

- Janelle and Neville are key to the upcoming Trivia Night. Update for Fund Raising when they come back.
- Progress on the WASH Project at Ian Tena Village, Flores.
- Hygiene training completed.
- 2 Model Toilets completed
- 12 Water Tanks complete or in construction
- Zoom Meeting Thursday, with NTA-Indonesia, RC Bali Seminyak and Local Committee.
- Carol has a target for 10 members 2024-25.
- Christmas in July the Friday at Pennant Hills Golf Club.

- Thornleigh Community Recycling Centre accepts many items for recycling and safe disposal.
- Allows residents to safely dispose of problem wastes that cannot go into household garbage bins or kerbside collection.
